Coconut Ghee
I’ve switched from my regular Nutiva coconut which I used to get from amazon for $21-$23 a 54 oz jar (vendor was vitaminshoppe.com and shipping was $.99 per item) to the large gallon bottle in the picture.
Got this from greenpasture.org, they’re in Nebraska – $39, plus shipping, total about $50 – worth every penny. Weighs like an elephant, incredible flavor. Totally organic – 75% coconut oil, 25% grassfed beef ghee – if you ever thought pure coconut oil was too coconut in flavor, this coconut ghee is the perfect oil for anything, including spreading on toast (when I toast my Ezekiel, I spread this coconut ghee and sprinkle a little toast, brings out the CG totally).
If you go to westonaprice.org, you will read all about good oils. The small bottle in the photo used to be a 16oz ghee from Wholefoods for $8.99 – it got really expensive although I loved the flavor and ghee is so healthy.
This coconut ghee is now my regular cooking and non-cooking oil.
Also, I use it on my face as a moisturizer after I clean my face. It’s desert winter now so it’s a good time to test this “new” moisturizer” – this coconut ghee works for me, my skin does not pull tight by afternoon. I used to use Aubrey Organics Rosa Marqueta moisturizer, not any more, I love this coconut ghee.
Snacks – Apple Crisps – Figs – Almond Butter – Costco
Great snacks from Costco – been getting them for the last few months.
Barefruit has their own website and you can compare prices – at Costco this 11oz bag sells for $4.99, amazon.com is $18 for pack of 2! The figs are $7.99 for 2 pds – they are incredible tasting – I think Wholefoods has something similar for $4.99 a pound. Both these figs and apple (bake-dried) are organic. Since hubby is on low-sugar diet, these crisps are ideal.
That Maranatha almond butter is not organic - 32 oz from Costco – $5.99!
Update – Bill Henderson – Bio-dentistry
Haven’t been posting for a while – busy! But, I will try to update as soon as I can. Basically, hubby has been following Bill Henderson’s protocol (www.beating-cancer-gently.com). His site is very informative with great articles in the archives.
For instance, hubby will be looking a bio-dentist to check and possibly undo what previous dentists have done to his gums/teeth, particularly root canals which, wrongly implemented, can harbor bacteria that later cause chronic sickness.
Again will try to gather my notes and post more on this later.
If you are looking for specific info, you can drop a note and I will try to send you what info I have, if you can’t find the same in my blog.
Will be back. Good health to you and yours.
